Granite and marble

Natural stone is amazing building and decorative finishing material. During millennium it takes attention of everyone who wishes that their house or an interior looks magnificently. All over the world the natural stone is considered a symbol of durability, stone has infinite varieties, uniqueness, and antique charm. For manufacture of architectural and building materials and products basically, a marble and granite are used.

Granite is the dense rock consisting of three minerals: feldspar, quartz and mica.

The granite can be different colors, for example: pink, red, brown etc.

The Granite distinguishes its durability, therefore granite is using for a construction of quays, monuments, for building facing and the other purposes. Different kinds of granite may vary in colors, therefore granite is used for decorative purposes and manufacturing interior items such as countertops, tables, tiles etc. For example, artists make a floor or wall mosaic from the polished color granite.

The granite is part of the nature.

It lies deeply in the ground, but sometimes leaves on a surface, forming mountains.

The granite has granular structure, often before using a granite should be polished.

Marble (in translation with ancient Greek means “a brilliant stone “) – crystallic-granular internal structure metamorphic carbonate mineral, a result of limestone crystallisation, less often – of dolomite. Due to close bonding of calcite grains among themselves marble may be well polished. In technique and construction the word “marble” used to refer any carbonate stones which can take a high polish – limestone, dolomite, or a travertine.

Marble – durable, strong, proof to temperatures and humidity the finishing material well used as for internal and external applications. Because the marble easily gives in to processing and is easily polishing, marble widely use in construction (especially for internal furnish of buildings) and for sculpturing (especially white, slightly appeared through grades).

Color marbles vary on white and color (pink, yellow, grey, blue, greenish, reddish, black, brown, and also various combinations of these colors). Many of color marbles contains veins – the cracks filled with natural “cement” such as clay, silt, sand, iron oxides, or chert into color marble.
Deposits of a marble and granite are dispersed on planet.
Among countries – importers are Italy, China, France, Germany, Greece, Norway, Brazil, and many others.

Imported granite and marble cost, as a rule, more expensively than American. However if it is necessary to pick up the certain color or a structure the big assortment of the companies offering not only the American stones, appears very opportunely.

The price also may be determined popularity and uniqueness of a stone coloring or structure.

Qualitative production is made of stone blocks in volume up to the several cubic meters, the typical commercial size 5 х 8 х3 Foot (height, length, width). Frequently blocks turn out the smaller size.
Then in stone factories these blocks will cut toward length to slabs, usually, thickness 1/2″, 3/4″ or 1′ 1/4”. One of the sides of a slab is grinded, polished, chemically processed. Such slabs is a commercial product – finished item for stone workshops which fabricate countertops, steps, panels, tiles for contractors or end-users.
